SEYMOUR GROVE ALLOTMENTS OPEN DAY & PRODUCE FAIR – Sat 13 August – 11am to 2pm
Our August Open Day is fast approaching, this year it will take place on Saturday 13th August from 11am to 2pm.
On our August Open Day we celebrate the produce which we produce by throwing open our gates and inviting friends, family & the public to experience the sights, sounds, smells & tastes of our wonderful corner of Old Trafford.
We will have a stall by the Pavilion selling fresh produce donated by plot holders.
Also this year, for the very first time, we will have a wood fired clay oven on site and will be baking pizzas! We will supply dough, tomato sauce & cheese and then you will be able to choose your topping from those we’ll have at the stall, or pop down to your allotment and pick some of your own veg to top your pizza with.
There will also be a nature trail for the children (the “See More” trail), refreshments in the Pavilion and a bric a brac stall.
The Open Day gives friends, families and our neighbours the chance to look round the site, sample our delicious produce and meet each other. It also helps to raise much needed funds for the upkeep and improvement of the site. Please invite everyone you know! The King’s Road entrance will be open from 11.00am to 2.00pm.
Our August Open Day ties in with National Allotment week which this year runs from Mon 8th – Sun 14th August, where sites around the country will be celebrating how fun and fruitful allotments can be!
Can you help make the day a success?
PRODUCE DONATIONS
Do you have a bag load of broad beans? Or a sack-full of spinach? How about a crate crammed with courgettes?
Just one onion? Or a jar of jam? Or something a little special to surprise us? (I’ve seen some wonderfully exotic & colourful looking veg around the site !)
Would you be willing to donate any excess vegetables or fruit you have to the Produce stall?
CAKES
Or can you bake a delicious cake, maybe a plate of biscuits or a fruit crumble & donate it?
BRIC A BRAC
We also welcome bric a brac and books.
We will be taking donations on Friday 12th August from 3pm – 7.30pm or on the morning of Sat 13 August from 9.30am, at the Pavilion.
If you are unable to drop off your produce on either of the dates / times above, contact us through this site with your phone number and we will arrange to pick it up from you.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Could you help …
| Sell produce on the stall?
|
Or cook pizzas in the clay oven? (We will show you how!) |
| Serve refreshments?
|
Or greet people?
|
| Set up from 9.30am?
|
Or clear up afterwards?
|
Any time you can spare would be really appreciated, you don’t need to stay the whole time, just an hour will be a great help.
If you would like to help or have produce to donate but can’t drop it off on Friday afternoon or Saturday morning, please pop a note with your details on it in the letter box at the Pavilion.
Many thanks and best wishes
